Named Monsters

Venril Sathir

  • Mob Health: 84x4
  • Auto-Attack Type: Slashing - 5k-13k damage
  • Special Attacks:
  1. Cape of the Faceless One - self buff
  2. Fearsome Energy - Mental Fear Shield (from cloak)- Every time you hit him, there is an 8% chance that you will be feared for 3-5s. It doesn't last long, but it sucks.
  3. Toxic Infusion - Poison Dot (1-5k/tick) 38s CAN NOT BE SWIPED
  4. Fatalisis - Poison DD (.5-15K) 43s (comes 5s after Toxic infusion) If Toxic Infusion is still not cured when Fatalisis lands, the damage from Fatalisis is GREATLY magnified. Everyone must cure Toxic Infusion BEFORE Fatalisis lands.
  5. Mana Sacrifice - mana decreaser very bad
  6. Mana Boon - mana increaser very bad
  7. Spiteful Strike (?) - Single target health and power attack 2.5k hp and 1.5k power drain. Lands any time Venril's Target is under 50%.
  8. Thunderous Stomp - AoE Crushing
  9. Chromatic Shower - Mental damage dot w/stifle
  10. Sathir's Mesmerization - AoE Mes
  11. Qxzytl's Conversion - let's you know he is watching your power
Strategy

Venril is activated by proximity. Recommend sending speed buffed scout to activate him and run back down the hall to the 2 statues.

Place MT behind one statue in the little 'alcove'. This will help minimize fear movement. Fearless tank is a benefit, but not required.

Assign someone with the Mistmyrian Soulcube to run up to where Venril Spawns and keep clicking the statues. Also if you stand in front of the chair you can reach both statues without moving.

Assign someone to call out Toxic Infusion at the 10s warning. This gives everyone time to stop dps / attacks so that they are not feared and able to cure / use potions.

Call Cure in vent when infusion lands. Ideally every group has a group nox cure person, and that healer is not doting or doing damage and will never be feared to cure. If you are not cured within 3 seconds of it landing, click your cure potion.

Don't go too hard, but just steady burn him down to 70%. Don't force MT to overuse power holding aggro.

At 90% there is a statue check, and the person clicking must get both statues clicked or adds can come.

At 65% He must be clicked with a cube to prevent a deadly ability from being used, much like disarming the OK's sword. Someone with the item farmed from Thuuga must spam click it on Venril until it lands.

At 60% the annoying part of the script becomes active and he begins watching the entire raids power bar (including the person on statues). If someone is over 60% power they will get zapped/killed by a harm touch like abilitiy. If anyone is under 40% (30) power the statues spawn 2 epicx2 mobs with 10k+ damage aoe's that fire every few seconds and the raid is wiped.

EVERYONE must be managing their power between these percents from 60% on down. To further complicate matters Venril will begin casting Mana Sactifice and Mana Boon on 2 random single targets. He'll throw these out about every 45s and they last 10-12s. The sacrifice buff doubles the power costs of all spells. Whoever gets it MUST stop casting AND click off any effects that cost power over time. The person who gets boon regens 1%/s and must be ready to sprint to lower power.

The last complication is his direct target power drain that hits when Venril's target drops below 50% health. Transfer classes must be ready to feed MT as his health bar spikes to prevent his power form dropping.

Whats most important here is the power management. This means we need regen classes with dispersion gear, others need mana proc gear, etc. However certain pieces of equipment are very dangerous. Warden epics are considered unusable for this fight. I believe illusionist epic's suffer the same issues.

My expectation is we'll die to people not watching their power or not curing far, far more than actually being overcome by his damage output.

He reflects spells. Since curing is so important no one is to use encounter based dots on this fight. This might overstep your healers cures and cause you not to get cured and wipe the raid party.

He has a reactive damage shield with a fear component. Using the anti-fear / fear-immune procing items from SoF are very handy. Rainbow shield, and chain pants both proc 10s immunity and that really helps get some good dps in on the mob.

WATCH YOUR FUCKING POWER!!!

Put your detrimental window in the middle of your screen. Drag your health / power bar to go all the way across your screen so you can see the 40/60 marks easier. Call out in vent when you are sac'd. Once the raid knows which 2 people are sac'd everyone else can go burn for 30s then start watching again. PAY ATTENTION. If your nox healer is sac'd you damn well better have cure potions ready.

  • Note: Now that common potions cure this, everyone should just bring a few hundred and cure themselves all the damn time. There is no excuse for you not getting cured. There is no excuse for droping under 40% power. There is no excuse for not toggling spring to stay under 60% power.

The only things I care to ever see people die from is lack of debuffs killing the MT. Anything else is just people not paying attention.

This fight sucks, it is not about know how to play your class well, its about paying attention and doing the 'line dance' the script asks for.
