HealingonRaids
From RaidWiki
- As soon as you join a group, and after every wipe, cast rez shards. It isn't a bad idea to create a macro for your primary group buff that will cast it and shards at the same time.
- If there's a group without healer, move a healer there so she can give them rez items, then move her back.
- Our main priority in a raid encouter is to keep MAIN TANK alive. This goes for healers in all groups. If the MT goes down, we all go down. It may be hard to resist healing your brave group friends, throwing themselves selflessly at the enemy, but it's better to lose a couple of mages or scouts than losing the MT. As long as the MT and healers are kept up, the DPS can be resurrected. However you shouldn't completely ignore the rest of the raid. Your priority beyond the MT should be the rest of the MT group (so MT's buffs don't go down), and the group you are in, especially the other healers. It is our recomendation to use group heals to help your group mates out such that you can continue healing tanks without changing targets.
- A healer who gets aggro should avoid healing him/herself, since it generates more hate. If there is a Paladin or other class with limited healing abilities in the group, it should be their job to rescue the healer. If there are other healers in group, they should try to keep each other alive (but still prioritise the MT).
- If you are not grouped with MT you also make sure you avoiding AOEs, especially stunning ones.
- Healers with MT have to keep MT always in buff range, for some wards even closer, so usually they take AOE damage from mobs, so others need to help them out in that case they get stunned, stifled, etc. This rule is not a dogma - it can changes to solve some situation in more effective way but it is a usual strategy.
- Please take curing seriously. I know it takes some power and not all hostile effects have a serious impact, but some of them have stun/stifle or very high damage. Hence especially those who are in the same group with MT please try to remove all hostile effects from MT, if MT is stunned, he/she may loose agro in a second, and our fellow raid members will do a "who can die faster" competition.
- Raising dead players should primarily be done by Paladins, Necromancers and Dirges, freeing up the healers to keep everyone else alive.
- Debuffs makes our life easier. Refer to the Rading 101 post for information on prioritizing debuffs. Certain classes are encouraged to always pre-cast heals on pull so the can immediately cast debuffs before healing again. These classes are: Defiler, Inquisitor, and Mystic.
- If it looks like a long fight, don't forget to use your Mana Stone/Heart/Essence from very beginning.
