That's right. I've weighed the pros and cons and I've made my decision. I'm leaving the desktop arena... for now...

I'm going laptop!

I've been thinking about it for a while now and after seeing the Acer/Gateway P-7805-u I've made up my mind. It's almost the same stats as my desktop (cept for processor!), only $1150 and a chance to get a 1920x1200 screen (instead of a 1440x900 screen; manufacturing mixup). So...

I'm selling my EQ2 desktop PC!

- Somehow EQ2 runs faster at higher resolutions in full screen... Well maybe not at "Screenshots" quality.
- These test were done with smooth screen fonts turned off.
- I've never seen less then 30FPS on a raid at the "Performance" setting plus all textures maxed at 1024x768 8xAA Windowed.

The case costing more than the CPU makes me laugh.

Computer comes with no 'legal' software besides the hardware driver discs.

Although I will get you anything you want. (hehehe) Just tell me what you want. Any OS. Any programs. In either physical form or image form. If you really wanna shell out for Windows XP/Vista 32/64 (this close to Windows 7 release) I will install it for you and send it along as well.

Win 7 is Vista Complete. If they finished Vista before releasing it, it would be what Win 7 is. I'm surprised that M$ isn't giving it free to Vista users for being test dummies...

M$ has just about admitted that Vista was a rush job (like Win ME) almost every time they talk about Win 7.

Why go through so much trouble to be partially-legal? In a year or two you'll have to go get another copy by jumping through even more loop holes and spending even more moneys. It's just easier to be illegal these days and it costs less too!

I got a Gateway 7811-FX instead of the 7805-u. It has a smaller HD (200gb, but I was going to replace anyways) and less VRAM (512MB instead of 1GB), but I got it for only $925 shipped! That's almost $300 less then what I was expecting to pay, so I'm really happy!

And I'm glad I was able to sell my computer in guild. I know it's an awesome EQ2 machine that's gonna give no nonsense while raiding and such which will ultimately increase our raid DPS! (I expect an extra 1,000 DPS Steals! lol!)

Next computer Firenz gets first dibs! =P

Yes Neveron. A case isn't a case till it can be used as a light source and a box fan. I named the computer "WyndFall" because you actually get a breeze off this thing. I have a suspicion that my power bill is gonna go down by $100 a month...

BTW the red fans are output and blue fans are intake. I like color coding.

It is so pretty.... it would have looked great here after the kidney donation surgery.... sigh
